Montgomery County Kayak-a-Thon

Saturday, August 22, 2026

Join us for a day of patriotism, recreation, and community as the 2026 Montgomery County Kayak-a-Thon comes to Fonda Park as part of the nationwide America 250 celebration. Paddlers traveling the Mohawk River will launch in Canajoharie and travel approximately 13 miles downstream to Fonda Park, creating a colorful wave of red, white, and blue in honor of our nation's 250th anniversary.

  • Live Music beginning at 5:00 PM featuring Spike and the Boys
  • Food Vendors
  • Family-Friendly Activities
  • Welcome paddlers as they complete their journey on the Mohawk River

Park at Fonda Park During the Fonda Fair

During the 185th Fonda Fair (September 2–7), Fonda Park offers paid parking at $10 per vehicle. Each day, a local nonprofit organization manages the lot as a fundraiser — your parking directly supports that organization and Fonda Park.

  • Pedestrian crosswalks lead to the main gate

Fonda Park is not affiliated with the Fonda Fair, which is owned and operated by the Montgomery County Agricultural Society. Vehicles parked at owner's risk.
