Halloween safety reminders

Please help make Halloween safe and enjoyable for everyone:

• Children should be accompanied by a responsible adult or remain with a trusted group.
• Wear bright or reflective clothing and carry a flashlight or glow stick.
• Choose costumes that fit properly and do not obstruct vision or create a tripping hazard.
• Cross streets at intersections, look carefully in every direction, and remain on sidewalks whenever possible.
• Never enter a home or vehicle to accept treats.
• Parents and guardians should inspect all candy and treats before children eat them.
• Drivers should slow down, remain alert, and expect children to be walking throughout the Village.
• Keep pets safely secured and away from the door if visitors may frighten or excite them.
