About the Celebration

The “After the 4th Celebration” is an annual celebration of our independence. This event provides activities for both children and adults.
We hope you will come out and enjoy this year’s offerings.
Admission is FREE to the public.

Skeeter Creek Concert

Mark your calendars; the annual After the 4th Celebration is coming up on Saturday, July 9th, in the Village of Fonda Recreational & Waterfront Park!

This year we have Skeeter Creek appearing in concert on our stage at 6:00 PM – Skeeter Creek was nominated for 4 awards at the 2005 Northeast Country Music Association awards: Bluegrass band of the Year, Vocal group of the Year, Instrumental band of the Year, and the Sunrise award. They were the winners of the 2004 Colgate Country Showdown in the Albany, New York region, winners of the 2005 and 2006 Froggy 100.7 Country Shootout, and named at the top of the 2006, 2007, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015 Metroland Magazine Readers Poll for Country Band of the Year, and 2013, 2014,2015 Cover Band of the Year (all genres). They have also won the North Country Music Awards in 2014-2015 for Entertainers of the Year, Band of the Year, Male Vocalist (Dave Ahl), Female Vocalist (Renee Lussier-Ahl), and Musician of the Year (Dominic Paratore). Skeeter Creek has won the Times Union Reader’s Poll in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021 and the Daily Gazette’s Best Local Band for 2018, 2019 and 2020.

Adopt a Pet @ the After the 4th Celebration

Ayers Memorial Animal Shelter will be on hand with pets who wish to adopt a new family – maybe they can be part of yours?

Stop by and say hello to the Ayers’ Volunteers who are happy to answer your questions and introduce you!

New This Year – Beer & Wine

Pending Licensing Approval

This year we will have beer and wine available for your enjoyment during the concert.

Sales of alcoholic beverages will be available during the event for adults 21 years of age or older in the adult-only sale area. 

Proceeds will benefit the Village Park and our events!

The event will not serve liquor.

No outside alcohol is allowed on Park Grounds or in other Public areas surrounding the park.

We encourage you to drink responsibly and not drink and drive.

Annual Car Show


We will have our annual Car Show. You may enter your ride in the show or come out and see some of the fantastic vehicles from today and time past.

These vehicle owners have provided some inspiring concepts and original styles of vehicles.

You can help us make the difficult decision of selecting the best for each class by casting your vote at the show!

Prize Categories

We award two prizes for each judging class for cars and motorcycles, with a grand prize for Best of Show given to one car entry and one motorcycle entry.

Displays & Presentations

We will have our first responders and other organizations of interest on hand to show and talk about the services and assistance they provide our community.

Come to the park and check out our law enforcement and emergency service demonstrations on hand.

Horse & Pony Rides – Petting Zoo

Food and Treats

We will have food vendors on hand with some of your favorites.

The Village Park will have sausage sandwiches, hotdogs, beverages, and Stewart’s ice cream available for donation.

If you own a business or wish to make a private donation, it will be greatly appreciated.
All donations pay for our event, and any remaining proceeds are put to good use to improve our park.
